  • 69 camaro worth it or not?

im looking at buying a 69 camaro itsa 307 2bbl 2 spd powerglyd car. this is from the ad: its a 69 camaro X-11. base coupe with numbers matching 307 and power glide 2 speed. rear is origional too. origionally fathom green with dark green interior and vynl top. its a complete car and all the parts are there. its desassembled down to a roller right now. motor ran when i got it last month but i started to disassemble it. anyway its gonna need floors, doors, fenders, rockers, one quater, ect... i have a turbo 400 tranny freshly rebuilt to go with the car.

what u guys think? if i got it, i would make a 396 clone car out of it as i have acess to one that needs reassemble.

I love '69 Camaros. A 396 clone would be sweet. What color will you paint it?

By the way - Where in CT are you? That pic looks alot like a spot on Route 67 in Bridgewater. I'm in Danbury.

Holy @#*$! I thought that pic was the spot on 67. I also went to Abbott Tech. I graduated in '91. It truly is a small world. I work within walking distance of Abbott Tech on North Street. We'll have to get the birds together for a pic sometime.

I was in Automotive also. Then I went back for one year as a post-grad for Auto Body. How do they work it now? It used to be 6 weeks in shop, 6 weeks in academics. Is it weekly now?

Damn. I remember the day we got the 240 in. It had 7 miles on it. Brand freakin' new. I learned to drive stick on that car. Poor car...

We used to drive it to get lunch all the time. We'd wait until Mr. Fernandez was at lunch, then we'd bolt to McDonalds on North Street and pick stuff up for the shop.

We also had an '83 Reliant we sawz-alled in half to show the Freshman what a subframe looks like, and because it was a front wheel drive car, we converted the back half into a rickshaw.

You mean the same school they told us would be built soon after I started my Freshman year in '88? I'm sure they'll get right on that.

I hear Fernandez is retiring soon. Who's the body shop instructor now? Is it still Mr. Hipp?
