  • Drive Safe!!!!!

Please drive safe guys! I just got home...almost didn't make it. I was getting on the freeway and trying to get around the Explorer that cut me off. Well, low and behold, I hit a slick spot on the on-ramp and off I went (its been raining today). I did about 2 or 3 360's, almost finished the next one when I finally came to a stop. Thankfully the Z didn't flip, but I was stupid and stood on the brakes. Kept the wheel turned, but locked up the wheels . Thankfully, though, I'm ok and the Z is fine. However, just as I was ready to leave, someone pointed over to the other side. The Explorer had flipped onto its side. The driver's fine, just a little shook up. I stayed, made sure everyone was ok, asked if they needed me and, upon hearing no, took off. I didn't hit her, so I saw no real reason to stay. Please, everyone, be careful. I'm done, I can't take this anymore. I'm just glad she hugged the road. Take care everyone.

Dang, glad you are safe. Getting around that explorer almost cost you big time.

I second that. Friday was just one of those days that I noticed a lot of people was driving crazy and inconsiderate. Then I was behind a Truck who ran a red light and smacked the tail end of a minivan that was turning in front of us from the opposite direction. The minivan swung around and flopped over on it's side. Neither car was paying attention. The moral of the story is, "PAY ATTENTION WHILE DRIVING !!!"

Geez man, that's horrbile. Usually I'm able to get the high end of the on-ramp and don't have to really worry about it. Show's how much I was really thinking. Never again man, never again. I'm still shaking the morning after

Glad to hear you and the Z are okay. It's also nice to see people like you are still around... That is, willing to help the people in the Explorer even after they are the ones who cut you off to begin with.

Glad you are OK Steve. We got a bunch of rain here yesterday too and people just forget how to drive in the rain it seems. I saw several cars on the highway haulin' a$$ when they know good and well that there is standing water on the road. I guess they think they are more experienced than everybody else because they are a diehard Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan.

I think if it hasn't rained in a while, then the roads are slicker when it does rain from all the oil & stuff that drips off of the cars, so the first day of rain after a dry spell usually has more accidents.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate all the feedback . I keep running through it in my mind though. How did she stay on the ground? What would have happened if I would have stayed behind the Explorer? Maybe I should've kept my butt on the city streets last night lol. Ugh...I really don't wanna go to work today.

Wow... Glad to hear everyone is ok. I did something quite similar in my caprice last year on bad tires(stock bfgoodrichs from a 96 Impala SS). It was the first rain and I went to pass someone on a four lane road. My rear end slid out from underneath and I was at about a 30 degree angle to the road. I let off and countersteered out of it. I still don't know how I didn't spin. Talk about some scary stuff. The next week I ordered a set of tires and learned to not make that mistake again.

Yeah, that combined with inexperience and stupidity makes for an interesting drive to and from work.

Nah. San Antonio drivers. It's like they almost increase their stopping distances when it rains for the first time in a while.
