  • LT1 Edit

Hey Guys, I have a 97 Z and I'm looking to purchace a edit program to reprogram my PCM. It's going to be reprogramed on a dyno with a wideband O2 sensor. I have installed the K&N cold air intake, headers with high flow cats and flomaster cat back. I know I'm not going to see huge performance gains but its somewhere to start. Anyway, my question is, is the LT1 edit program pretty much my only choice or do I have other options that might be better? I know Hypertech has those hand held ones that barly make good paperweights. HP tuners only make edit programs for the LS1, so thats out. I figured a edit program is a good idea to have for future mods as well. Thanks! Dave

I dont know that tunercat has an OBDII system......I could be wrong, but thats something to look into. The OBDI systems are MUCH cheaper than the OBDII systems though. So, you could convert to an OBDI PCM and run tunercat. Ion at Madz28.com can modify an OBDI PCM to work with your car. This is what I did with mine, but then ran out of $$ to buy the program and cable..... The main problem with doing this is emissions inspection......

I guess LT1 edit is my only option, unless I switch to OBD1. I'm not sure I want to do that.
