Ok, for the ast few weeks, my car has been trying to "stall" while driving down the road and sometimes it just didn't want to go altogeteher. At 1st I thought fuel pump so I went to Summit and bought a fuel pressure gauge. It showed appr. 35 lbs Everytime it wold act up by the time I would pull over to look at gauge it would have already straightend itself out. Well tonight I get in and she didnot want to run. I lookedat the gauge and t was reading 7 lbs. Do you all think it is the regulator or the pump? Thanks RAY

chances are the regulator would not send so much fuel back to the tank to only have 7 lbs at the rail. Its most likely the pump. The best way to test it though is to "deadhead" it near the tank before the fuel filter. Just make some fittings for the guage and unscrew the line going into the filter and take your reading.

Also check your voltage at the pump as well. Could be a wiring issue96 WS6 Formula: Ram Air, 383 Stroker, Ported LT4 Heads and Manifold, 1.6 Crane Rollers, 58MM T.B., AS&M Headers, Borla Exhaust, Meziere Elec. To check the pressure reugulator, simply pinch the return line and see if rail pressure rises significantly. Also, pull the vacuum compensation line off the regulator and smell for fuel - shouldn't be any.
Since its not running, does the fuel spike higher when you first turn the key on, and then fall off quickly after the pump stops running, or does it simply not go over 7psi in the two seconds that the pump runs?
Since its intermittent, could be the electical side of the pump as well. You can test the relay and pump seperate from the ECM by using the "fuel pump test wire" near the ECM.Fred
