  • Question for Ken...

What is the widest reccomended tire size for a 17x8 rim?

The reason I ask is because these caught my eye. I in no way plan on purchasing wheels anytime in the near future but was mearly window-shopping.

Do you see any reason why these wouldn't fit an f-body?

I believe the widest is P285. That's what I got on the rears for mine.

No way a 285 will fit a 17x8. Remember Taso, your wheels are 17x9s

Those are pretty sweet lookin' Bob. I'd go for the 17x10s so you can run 275/40s. You'd be stuck with 245/45s on a 17x8 if you want to stick with the stock wheel/tire diameter.

Actually, Ken has recomended no bigger than 255's for an 8" wide wheel. If he goes with a 10" wheel then he can safely put on 295's, just like the c5 Z06.

True, but 245/45/17 is the largest (and only I believe) tire that will fit a 17x8 with the stock diameter of 25.6"

Don't forget to inflate the tires to 90 PSI in front and 9 PSI in the rear as well. You'll go faster that way lol
