well instead of having my lt1 bored and all that stuff i think i am jsut going to buy a 383 shortblock for my car, is this a good idea yes or no? and also what else would i need to build my car up like what heads, intake manifold and throttle body and with all this stuff could i add a power adder? i should go with a mild cam i think? is this the right way to go or am i going about it the wrong way

u got ttops? if u do, get SFC as soon as possible wit that motor. i say go for it, make a 383 9:1 motor so u can run either nitrous or a lil boost. and still run on 93 gas

A run of the mill 383 cubic inch LT1 needs to have the cylinder bores bored to 4.030" any way. So why not use your block? It is better to use a seasoned block than a fresh block anyway.

I think ported heads are a no-brainer if you are going to go forth with the effort of a stroker motor any way. Yes, the intake manifold runners should be port matched to your cylinder head's intake runners. The throttle bores should be machined to accept whatever size TB you plan to use.

If you plan to FOR SURE supercharge or turbocharge your motor, you will want to build the motor in a fashion that will keep the static compression ratio fairly low. Under 9.0:1

If you plan to just use nitrous, the compression ratio really doesn't matter. In fact it seems that nitrous actually likes higher compression to a point.

The cam size will depend on lots of factors: rear end gear ratio, final static compression ratio, trans type, power goals, redline wanted, streetability, cylinder head flow, cylinder head velocity, etc.

So what do you want to do now?

In addition to what Kevin said I'll point out that the shortblock you posted the link to will not fit in your car. It is not a LT1 block.
