98+ Formula ?

Dose the 98+ formula come with a Ram Air hood?
Does the 98+ Formula come standard with WS6?
Is it lighter than the Trans Am?
Does it come rated at the same HP as the Highest TA?
Leather Interior?

I have always been a fan of the Formula, not that i dont like the Trans Am, but I like having no GFX. I wish to purchase a 4th gen, most likely a 02 because I want an orange one, which I think was only available in 02? Any ways this will just help me to decide on formula or TA.

In '02, I believe all V8 Birds came standard with leather. Not sure on the previous years. You can definitely get a Ram Air Formula from 98+, but again, not sure which exact years. I'll try to look that up now.

Okay... apparentley, leather was available, but not standard in the 2002 Formula. It was possible to get cloth still, however, production numbers have most V8's with leather. Still checking on the Ram Air option.

Didn't they drop the WS.6 package for Formulas after 99?

Very possible, Tom. I know they had them in at least 98 and 99, but as I said earlier, I'm not positive on the 2000 and up models.

Is it lighter than the Trans Am? yes, how much I don't know...
Does it come rated at the same HP as the Highest TA? Yes, the output is the same. 305hp for standard formula/ta, 320hp for WS6. I think they dropped the WS6 for the Formula in 01 though.

so basiclay I cant have an 02 orange WS6 Formula Ram Air. All I can get is a Orange formula 02 with no WS6 but I can get Ram air?

sure...seeing I like OEM goodies, I'll be hard pressed to pay for a hood and and airbox. Mucho $$$

I assume you like the look...I do too. By far the cleanest f-body in my opinion.

I know you can get hoods from SLP (firehawk style) and oem WS6 style from Suncoast Creations...but I heard about poor quality and fitment from SCC and with SLP, you're looking at $800+ for a hood.

WS6 also came with specific suspenion components too...shocks, antiroll bars, springs...so it wasn't just hood and airbox. But seeing how many replace those componets anyway, I guess it doesn't matter.

You can "make" an 01+ Formula WS6, but I like to know I own the real thing. Sunset orange was a 01+ color, so you ain't finding one before then.

I guess Ill just get a sunset orange TA WS6 then! I like original equiped cars, not to have to build it. But thats just me! I just want an all original ice driving car and keep all the preformance stuff going to my 89 formula.
