  • Back again... Computer module Q.

There is one harness that comes off the computer with 4 leads that goes through the firewall. Since I'm doing this rather odd conversion, I need to know what those 4 leads go to. I've tried to look at a wiring diagram in the chiltons manual but all it did was give me a massive headache. I would presume that they go to the fuse box, but the F-body has three of them, I think...

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Is the LT1 out of a C4 or an F-Body? What year? They are not all the same. Have you checked the wiring diagrams? Rob/Shoebox has the complete 1995 F-Body diagram online on his website.

It's from a 1994 Z28. I've tried looking at the Shoebox diagrams, but you said that they aren't all the same between 1994 and 1995. Will they tell me exactly what I need to know?

I'll look again to get some insight, but if yoiu know for sure that they aren't the sanme, please let me know asap.

      Thanks again, Injuneer!

94 and 95 are basically the same, except the 94 has a 12-pin OBD-I ALDL connector, and the 95 has a 16-pin OBD-II ALDL connector (but the PCM is still OBD-I, and identical to the 94).

What are you puting the harness into?
To make the engine run put 12v to the red wire and switched 12v to the pink wires. There is also 2 other pulgs on the pasenger side fender with red and pink wires that need to have 12v to power the injectors and sensors.

Drag Bear, to answer your first question go here: http://www.f-body.com/index.html/sho...ght=fuel+lines

After having a long look at the wiring diagrams, I'm kinda confused about what all needs to be attached to the computer. It seems that these engines, and the rest of the Z28 for that matter, are run by the computer. I'm a mess when it comes to figuring out the wiring of a car. Now I can side-step a lot of the wiring issues, but what I really need to know is, what must be controlled by the computer? What must have a fusable link to it? And, lastly, are there any descriptions to go with these numbers (1,2,3...7,000,000) http://csce.uark.edu/~jgbertr/rb/93-94_hoses.jpg ?

Sorry to be a pest, but this is an incredibly confusing tangle of crap! GM's engineers should be shot for this mess...

I have run these motors on the engine dyno by using the wiring harness and computer from the car. You only need to supply constant 12v to any red wire and switched 12v to all the pink wires. use a fusable link on the constant 12v (red) and a regular fuse on the pink wires. If you are puting this in a diferant car the rest of the wires will no longer be used. In fact through trial and error you will find that some of the pink and reds dont need to be hooked up. All you need is power to the ecm, injectors and sensors and the computer will do the rest.
