Okay... Here's what LMPerformance says about the LM II: "Similar to original Loud Mouth, but with a throatier tone and reduced resonance."

It also had a sound chart, and showed the original Loud Mouth to be a bit louder at mid and high range tones. The LM has an open resonator, whereas the LM II has a muffled, bullet-type restrictive resonator, but gives it a throatier sound.

Basically, it all comes down to what type of sound you like best.

I have the original and yes sometimes it is really loud especially with the top down. But I love it.

The more I read up on it, the more I think I'm leaning towards the original Loudmouth setup. I love the sound of a loud exhaust, as long as the engine sounds healthy. If I find it becomes too annoying, I can always change out the resonator type.

I think that SLP hit a home-run with their new line of modular exhausts. I love the ability to be able to easily change the muffler to get the desired sound you want whereas you used to have to take it to a shop to have them put on a borla or dynomax muffler if you wanted to quiet it down.

But if you want both mufflers make sure you order your LM setup with the LMII muffler because you can buy the LM resonator for $75 whereas the LMII race muffler will run you $100 but the total system costs $315.00 no matter what muffler comes with it. So if you buy LMII all you have to is spend another $75 and you can throw the resonator on there in a few minutes. But if you buy it with the resonator you have to spend $100 to get the LM II muffler.

Good point, Bob. Thanks for the tip. Maybe that's what I'll do. I love playing around with stuff like that anyway, so it's not like the resonator will just sit there all the time. I'm sure I'll change it up from time to time.

Thanks for the exhaust sound links, 95TransAm. Now the problem is that I'm confused.

The Magnaflow and Flowmaster both sounded awesome as well as the SLP LM. I'm sure I'll still go with the Loudmouth II setup, mainly because of the price, but at least the other options are out there.
