  • The 6 Speed paid off

Well from the last time I took the Camaro down to the track I was running it at 14.5 right after I installed my six speed which was pretty disappointing because I lost .6 on my ET with it. But tonight I went again, hoping to have some better times and I ran a 13.9 which is where I was in the Camaro when it was auto. Except tonight I finally broke into triple digit speeds. The 13.9 run was at 100.12 MPH and I ran a 14.0 at 101.34 MPH which I was very pleased at, I gained 2 MPH.

So in conclusion, it was a good night for racing. Definitely need some more power and I definitely need some traction help because my 60' times were 2.2-2.4 all night and I’d like to get down to the 2.0s. The auto did 2.05 in 60' so hopefully I can come back there.

Oh and I won a trophy in the bracket racing

Did i mention i ran a .508 reaction time? I was all around .500-.600 most of the night for the 10 runs i got in. So i guess college made me more attentive in more than just the books but also in racing.

Ya ill post a picture of it tomorrow morning

the overall swap wasnt that hard, there were a few parts that were anoying, like a stripped a bolt head and that took time to take out. THe lining of the tranny input shaft and the clutch assembly is a pain. Overall im pretty sure it was around 1450. Including shipping and a new clutch and a retune from Madz28 and some other misc. parts.

          Definitely worth it

I used to go to camaroz28.com a lot and i found this guy who had a website www.fbodyjunk.com. He was a bunch cheaper than tennessee auto at the time so i went with him. He was fast at shipping and was pretty good guy. I think his name was kyle, dont remember. He and his wife run the business. The wife actually does all the sales work, i think he just pulls the trannies and ships them. But hes got some cool stuff on his site, so check it out.

How hard was the T-56 conversion and how long did it take? Any bugs in the system yet?
