  • NFB: Not to be to geeky but what to you guys think about Star Wars!

    I know...I am a nerd :P but oh well

I wont say anything about the parts but what do you think about the movie, I saw it last night I think it gave people what they have been for, Darth Vader going medeval on some Jedi's.

I think its definitly not a kids movie but overall was good, filled in the gaps however for anyone not familure with the new cartoon you didnt know whats going on at the start of the movie. Oh and did I mention all the fighting, I think it was varry well done, some bad acting but it's not a drama :P

I am just currious what others think of it.

I'm not a big Star Wars fan, but I heard it's the best one by far and most definately not for kids. The violence level is up there...I honestly can't wait to see it. The last one sucked in my opinion, so this one better blow me away.

Not a big sci-fi fan, but it's worth a shot I guess. I figured that I would hate Napolean Dynamite, but after a few beers, it was kinda funny.

I wanna see it. I've seen all of them except for the new one. The 2 prequel movies I have seen thus far weren't all the best....especially The Phantom Menace. I heard on the radio this morning that this is the best Star Wars movie though since The Empire Strikes Back....got me pretty interested.

Going to see it tonight. I am trying not to get my expectations up too high. However, I haven't heard a bad review of it yet, everyone who sees it seems to like it. I wasn't too impressed with Phantom Menace, except the fight scene at the end with Darth Maul. The second one was ok, the large battles were pretty cool. I hope this one is all it should be. Maybe it will even live up to the first three.
The movie I am most looking foreard to right now is the new Batman one. Christian Bale is a great actor, and it looks like they took a more modern looking approach to the visuals of the movie. Can't wait.

I haven't gotten to it yet... gonna wait 'til things die down a little. Down here they even had a 24 hr pass so you could camp in the theater or something... whatever floats your boat I guess...

I saw it last night at midnight and must say it is by far the best one of all 6 movies.

Well, I was pretty young when the first movie came out. Young enough to overlook some of the cheesy lines and iffy acting. I have to say it did make a big impact on my life. That among other things led me to the Navy and flight school. So, I can understand why some people aren't too into it, but you have to recognize the big influence it's had on many people's lives.

I for one will go out and see it once the crowds die down.

Now...as far as the marketing goes...well, I heard Yoda hawking Viagra or something similar over the radio the other week. No, I'm not kidding. You all are free to interpret that however you want too.

Well, I'm not afraid to admit it. I'm a big fan of the Star Wars movies. Honestly, I would have to rate the all time greatest "saga" movies to be a close tie between Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. I for one enjoy movies that make you forget about the troubles of the day and let you live, if even for a brief moment, in a surreal fantasy where good and evil battle. It's just good fun and a part of what makes living great.
