Don't think that you can simply replace the speakers with aftermarket ones. The factory speakers are 2 OHM, most aftermarket are 4 OHM. Check the speaker specs carefully.

        Thanks a lot guys...within

...the local GM dealer has one OEM speaker 6 3/4" FRONT RIGHT with the part number "similar" to the rear seat right panel speaker...and Crutchfield confirmed that.. they're the same...so...I went to the Service parts to purchase it..but..guess what.....the speaker physically did not match with my blown speaker, and the 4 ohm resistance neither.
The brand new OEM speaker price with tax is US$48 !
Time to call Dal or Jason.
Thanks again guys youre the best

I just had the two speakers on my 97 T/A on the rear seat panels replaced since one of them was making a horrible noice.

So I went to the local car stereo place. Turned out to be membrane was broken.

They had some el cheapos but I decided to go with something more durable. They installed two 6" Orion speakers. Not sure how well they fitted but it took them some time to install and they sound great. Don't have any numbers on them. Paid approx. Can $ 250 for the speakers and labor.

They gave me the other speaker that was still good and it has following #'s on it:

          Rev. 1
          Delco Electronics
          16217721
          36908P 9716
          Assembled in Mexico
          4Ohm/4Ohm
          7M43D4-
97 Trans Am A4 more or less stock (Mods: WS6 Ram Air with Fernco & K&N, 12 disc CD changer, power antenna, SLP Fan Switch, LS1 Aluminum DS, Borla Cat back, McCord power plate, Spohn tower brace, Sirius, HID fog lights)
