With everything being on our Intranet, the low speed access is really a burden. Like I said, Oh well, it pays good so I'll just be quiet.

256K? What is that DSL or ISDN? In Canada I dont think you can get High speed in anything less than 1.5mbs. I love my work connection. 20Mps Fiber with a packeteer controling bandwith between 16 sites. But being the Administrator I have given my self priority. (insert evil laugh here)

Yes, I own my own business. I am a captive agent in the insurance business.

At my former job, we were running T3 lines, but there were over 100 people using them at any given time. Last year, I took a better job in the same industry much closer to home (2 miles compared to 40), and there is only 4 of us using one DSL line. My internet is nearly as fast here as it is on my cable connection at home.

I have BellSouth IFITL. It's a fiber line (Integrated Fiber In The Loop). I get 3.5 GIG per second. Not 3.5 kbps, not 3.5 mpbs but 3.5 gbps. My problem is no one else has anything close to that fast so I am limited by the other end. So far Norton is the fastest. I have seen at around 800kbps download. Microsoft runs around 300kbps. I don't quite understand how it can get 3.5 gbps through a 100 mbps Ethernet jack. That's just what it tells me. BTW Bellsouth said that the speed is the same whether uploading or downloading. I don't think DSL and cable have the same upload and download speed.
