The Loudmouth uses a resonator (bigger piece of pipe fitted between two small pieces of pipe, in this case 4" resonator on 3" int. pipe). The Loudmouth 2 uses a bullet-style muffler in place of the resonator. Check out SLP's website, they've got pictures and such for further reference.

Bob, depending on how big the sound file is, I can probably host it for ya. Otherwise, I'd hit up Taso.

Only go this route if you are not planning on going to LTs - it sounds very good with stock manifolds and cats - gets ugly with LTs and ORY.

The LM 2 might fare better though on LT's. I heard one on LS1sounds with stock manifolds and SLP Y-pipe (with cats) and it sounded pretty friggen good. I'd be interested to see how it sounds on LT's.

The key words here are "with cats". The cats act like mufflers, and when you don't have them and do have a loudmouth, be prepared to hate your car. I have stock manifolds, no cats, and a Loudmouth and I literally could not drive the car with all that rasp. I replaced the middle section (with the resonator) with my old exhaust center section, with 2 bullets back to back. It's still kinda loud, but at least it sounds mean now. I've heard a Loudmouth on an LS1, LT's, and no cats, and it sounded like crap. Same thing on an LT1 car. And one bullet ain't gonna cut it, you've got to have at least 2 on a header car.

Me too - it ain't pretty! LOL. With my Corsa it is borderline....at least it is quiet inside the car...I have learned to feather the throttle a bit from 2000-2500 to avoid the rasp. It sounds so good at WOT though it is worth it!

Yes, I know cats act as mufflers. Hence the reason I said "might"...the other key word. Sheesh lol

I just got back from driving her up to the gas station and back and I must say that this Loudmouth II resonator makes a world of difference from the resonator. First noticeable difference is that there is pretty much no rasp whatsoever to this exhaust.... the only way to describe it is that it sounds like Corsa on a LT1 but with a more muffled yet deeper tone.

Just idling it sounds so sweeet!!

On the way home I layed into her....

WOT just sounds amazing. I don't know what took me so long to order a catback.

Awesome! Glad you like it....a catback is always a must and on the top of the mod list. I love how my car sounds right now....at WOT it sounds so disgusting.

When you get a chance, post that sound clip. I really wanna hear what the LMII sounds like.

Enjoy it and prepare to set off some car alarms....it tends to happen

Thanks for the tip. I think I'm going to stick with the stock manifolds for now. If I decide on long tubes down the road, I'll play around with exhaust options at that point.

Bob - Glad to hear you like it. I can't wait to order mine. Another couple weeks and I'll do it.
