is there a sensor or something that you would have to get welded into your oil pan for this to work? i know the trans temp gauge you have to have the sensor added to your trans pan.
thanks
chris
On the LT1, I put the oil temp sensor in my oil drain plug. Drilled it, tapped it and screwed it in, with a terminal to allow the wire to be removed for oil changes.
I'd be a little concerned about heat soak when putting it in the side of the block... and I already had the -AN line for my mechanical oil pressure gauge in there.
For the trans temp sensor, there is a pressure test port in the side of the 4L60E that can be used.
