  • Removing rear spring isolater

Has anyone done this and how is the ride quality and stance?

How does the spring stay centered?

Why would you want to do this? Is it to lower it?

That isolator stops the transmission of noises from the rear axle housing to the frame.

I have heard of people removing the isolator and then putting a section of heater hose on the bottom coil to act as an islator. I guess it does lower the car a bit.

from what i have heard is you take out the isolater and put rubber hose around the spring. Yes i want to lower the back now that i lowered the front. I have BMR springs but they are extremely bouncy and was wondering if just taking out the spacer would be alright.

I did it. All you need to do is pull the springs and spray the inside of the hose with WD40. Slip the 5/8's inch heater hose around the top coil and reinstall. There will be no increase in noise or ride harshness. It will drop the rear about 1/2 an inch.
