You are exactly right on the tire thing. I'm due for some tires right now and they're so bald and heat-baked, it's like the pavement is always wet.
About that guy on the interstate . . . it's gonna take a while for the GTO reputation to become known - most people out here in Texas have no idea what the GTO's are capable of. I regularly see ricers line up for a quick-spank via GTO paddle. It's fun to watch . . . . .
when these goats are on the highway...they are one heck of a torque monster to unleash. heck, they pull in 4th at 3500 like my CompTA did in third at 4200......
downshift to 3rd at 65mph and most of the competition is looking at your tailights in seconds......then a few more seconds past and they need a telescope......
heh, as if I hadn't been beat enough I lost honorably to a ws6 in a honkstart at about 40mph.
I wasn't trying to race him, I was messing with a ricer but I guess he wanted in on the fun.. (the ricer wouldn't race me). It's all in good fun and I never took it up way over the speed limit.
