  • NFB - Tire question

We traded in the 4 banger minivan for a used 6 cylinder last Friday. The tires on it are 215/70 X SR15 Michelin Harmony tires. The tire says max inflation pressure is 35 psi. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.j...m=17SR5HARMONY However the sticker on the inside door says to use 36psi. I hate running it at the max. That typically means no margin. What should I run them at?

If it wasn't for the chart saying 1620 lbs per tire I would say the tires are not strong enough for this application. I've never run into this before.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

you always run the inflation pressure set by the O.E. for the tire.....however... is that the tire size that came O.E.? the door sticker should tell you the tire size as well as the inflation pressure. something is not adding up

It is the correct (OE) tire size. It is not the same (manufacturer) tire that came on the car. Yea it doesn't add up to me either.
