  • LT1 vs SBC exhaust

Do LT1 manifolds bolt up to a regular small block chevy head? How do they compare?

  • #2
The bolts will line up, but the LT1 heads have "D" shaped ports, so the port might not line up perfectly. It would work, though.

The bolt pattern is the same. There are also SBC heads with D-shaped ports, however LT1 manifolds are siamesed in the middle. The #3/5, and #4/6 exhaust ports are together. A SBC manifold without the siamesed ports would just have to be dremeled or machined out.
