            I like how you think!

I bought a 34" widescreen Sony Trinitron HDTV. Has all the bells and whistles, including HDMI. 34" was the biggest I could get a widescreen, tube TV. Tube TVs still have the best picture, IMHO, so I was willing to sacrifice some size for that picture quality.

Yesterday, I spent all day finalizing the purchase of the stereo theatre surround system. I went with Klipsch's synergy line - the F2 system and the Yamaha HTR-5860 receiver. The subwoofer is 225 watts, 10", and the front floor speakers have 2 - 6" inch drivers on each with 400 watt max power. ... plus I have the XBOX, DVD player, and PS2 to go with it all!

All of this should be plenty loud/big enough for a 18 X 11 living room with hardwood floors!!!

            Oh man, I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice....sounds like everything you need. I a glad you decided to stay with the high end system you wanted. You would have regretted it for a while had you "skimped"! 34" is perfect for that size room. A lot of guys go too big for the room they have. A friend of mine has a 65" TV that the farthest you can get away from it is like 8-10 feet. Gives me a headache!

I found pics of my speakers...

Front surround and stereo floor speakers:

                    Center speaker:

                    Rear surrounds:

                    Sub:

Here are the info pages for the speakers:
                    Front floorstands: http://www.klipsch.com/product/product.aspx?cid=835
                    Center: http://www.klipsch.com/product/list....1258&type=1266
                    Surround: http://www.klipsch.com/product/list....1258&type=1267
                    Sub: http://www.klipsch.com/product/list....1258&type=1269

                    www.klipsch.com

You'll notice the "Reference" line is a little higher priced... it's a tad more prestigious than the "Synergy" line. My understanding is that the speakers use identical setups, but the Reference line is built with better materials. I could have upgraded everything to the Reference line for $500 more... but I figured I'd cool it for a while . Besides, there is nothing "cheap" about the Synergy line... it's like a Trans Am WS6 compared to a Firehawk

Very nice....I went with a Bose system because I was limited on space for the speakers at my old house. Now I am pissed because I have plenty of room and the Bose system is not cutting it in this huge living room I now have! New speaksers or more car stuff......def more car stuff

                              Jay -

Congrats, man. The place looks awesome. I love lighter harwood floors. The ones in my house are a couple shades darker and I am not crazy about them, but a man's opinion on interior decor is taken about as seriously as the dog's opinion.

You are going to love those Klipsch speakers. I have the same towers, but different satellites and subwoofer. They sound incredible. You are also going to love the HDTV. That was my last major purchase before the T/A. Are you going to use cable or satellite? I have HDTV service through DirecTV and love it. Nothing like watching NFL Sunday Ticket in HD.

Great place. Good luck with everything!
