HELP #'s on block?

I have a 68 camaro and the only #'s that I can find on the block are on the back, drivers side.

It reads-
44GM

3970010

Anyone have any idea what motor it is. I know the vin in 68 wont tell what size motor it is unlike 67. Any help would be greatfull

3970010 is a 350 cubic inch 2 bolt main motor.

One web site I was looking at said that # was used for 2 types of 350's and the 302's. I dont know. you guys know everything so I thought Id ask you. The 350 your refering to, do you know what hp rating?

"Normally" that is a 2 bolt 350 SBC if it came originally in the Camaro. The same shortblock was placed in the Vettes also but they got 4 bolts

If it was an original 68 motor, I think they were rated a 295 HP.
