    Firehawk Wide Oval = Bridstone Potenza RE750

    Well, I just made a startling discovery. Check out these tred patterns. The first is Bridgestone Potenza RE750 and the 2nd is the "new" Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval. While not exactly the same, the Wide Oval appears to be an updated RE750. Any thoughts???

      not surprised...Bridgestone/Firestone...same company. LOL...sorta likE GM rebadging all their vans and hoping people won't take notice.

      good eyes joe. I'm pretty sure structurally, they are different.

        very keen observance on your part!

        however....

        there is much much more to a tire than the actual tread pattern itself...
        many high performance tread patterns have proven themself to be superior for dry, wet, and a combo of "both" traction. When a tire company finds one, it patend's it...and uses close variations of it for different models, or "brand designations"... the firestone wide oval is actualy the "new and improved" sv-50 "firehawk" tire series...its cord body, belt package, belt edge supports, belt edge wedges, and tread compound is different from that of th potenza, which is aimed at a slightly diffferent car market than our f bodies and such...
