question on gears ?

hey guys
i was wonderin if i need to buy a new housin if i was to buy new 3.73's for my 96 a4 t/a
i have stock 3.23
i didn;t think i did but i thought i would ask the pros

No. The "housing" is the same for all 4th Gens. The 3.23 gears use a 3-series carrier. The 3.73's require a 3-series, so you are fine. Only the 2.73's came with a 2-series carrier.

You need the gears, an install kit, and the tough part - someone who knows how to set them up.
