I am looking at a new cam for the '97 along with the recommended valve springs. What roller rockers are good for the LT1. I am looking for more of a low cost 1.6 roller rocker until I can do the rebuild in about three years. Does the lifters need to be changed for this cam, or are the stock ones adequate; I have about 94K on them, though. I need to pull the intake to fix the leak, and I thought I would pull the heads, and port the pockets at the same time...get the valves reseated.
Oh, are the shorty headers worth the money, or should I stay with the manifolds?
COMP CAMS 1993-97 5.7L LT1
266/276 degrees advertised duration, computer controlled, hydraulic, Xtreme RPM, roller cam
Duration at .050 in. cam lift: 210 intake/220 exhaust
Gross valve lift: .500 in. intake/.510 in. exhaust
Lobe separation: 114 degrees
RPM range: 1,000 to 5,000
Anyhow, I thought about going a little more aggressive, but I am not interested in getting a new program at this time, but a little more power until I rebuild the motor. Supposedly, this one works on a stock programmed PCM.
