  • NFB The sounds from Hell

I've heard stories about this but never actually heard the audio until now.

This could be a little disturbing so here's a warning.

Sounded strange. I've never heard the story, so I was a bit new to it. Wouldn't want to listen to it in the dark.

When I listened to it, the first thing that popped into my head was it sounded like a high school gymnasium with someone trying to talk over a loud speaker. Just sounded like a bunch of kids yelling and screaming over each other, with someone attempting to be heard over a PA system. That's just what came to my mind.

I've heard that before...the NY Subway system during rush hour. Oh wait! That really could be hell!!

I used to listen to that radio show. Late night phone watch at my training squadron. I think the host's name is Art Caldwell. The show's usually on AM band at around 2-3am. Crazy stuff man!!

It's Art Bell. He's got a website too, all kinds of ghosts and UFO stuff on there. A lot of guys here at work listen to it.... what else are you going to do when you're sitting around at 3 am. Actually, he's retired now, someone took the show over for him.

That is pretty intense if it was what it's supposed to be. However, I've always thought hell "underground" and heaven "up high" was figurative. Didn't astronauts also claim to hearing angels singing too?

Actually, I thought Hell would have show tunes playing on a loop. At least that would be my personal Hell....

Sounds like what I would picture "weeping and gnashing of teeth" to sound like. Whats the story behind it? I dont know of anybody to have returned from hell (especially with a tape recorder), so where do they propose this recording was made?

I guess what makes it scary is that one would be listening to that day in and day out for eternity
