  • how to remove gum

my GF has a celica and somehow, gum is stick and smudged on her seat belt. Not so good...it gets stuck in the tensioner and doesn't retract all the way. What's the best way to get gum out? Let a brudda know!

something oily.. like peanut butter...try it.

if that does not do it.. freeze it with ice then scrape it off.

peanut butter should work though...ive used it plenty of times.

Rub it with an ice cube until it gets good and solid. It should scrape off with a finger nail at that point. I got gum out of the cloth upholstery on my Silverado using that method.

Here's another vote for freezing it. I had some stuck on the carpeting of one of my old cars. Ice did the trick.

I can vouch for the ice trick as well.

              Dry ice is even better.

get a can of air and turn it upside-down so it sprays liquid. Spray the gum to freeze it hard and then pick it off. Be carefull not to spray your skin, it will give you instant frost-bite!

It's pretty cool....we used to take the cans of compressed air for cleaning electronics turn them upside down and spray the liquid into a plastic bag. The liquid has such a low boiling point, that just touching the outside of the bag will make the liquid instantly boil.
