  • "Service Engine Soon"?

    OK,

So the day after I get the new headers, exhaust, Shift kit, SFCs, plugs changed and oil changed I make a turn and I see "Change Oil Soon" in yellow. Do you think that maybe the mechanic didn't put enough oil in the engine? I haven't checked the dip stick yet but I'm assuming maybe. Could it be the radiator fluid? I appreciate the help. I'm taking it back in next week. Oh, BTW the Trans Go Shift Kit made a world of difference and the Borla makes the car look and sound great. Thanks to all the guys who gave me advice.

Was the light on BEFORE you took it in for an oil change? If not, it comes on because the computer reached that conclusion based on past use history. Might just be a conicidence it came on right after a change. The light needs to be reset, using the procedure in the owner's manual.

Check the oil level, of course, but I doubt that's the problem.

Where did you take it to get the oil change done. Normally little "Mom&Pop" shops dont know that those cars have those "oil life" lights and forget to reset the light. We reset the light after every oil change here at the dealer. Check the dip stick just to make sure. If its okay, then just rest the light. BTW, it stayed on right? As for the radiator fluid, that has nothing to do with the "oil life light."

reset light either buy holding the trip button, push the gas pedal to WOT 3 times in a row fast, thru the radio(i forget the steps) or pop the hood and take off the fuse cover and push the red button(if its a saturn) BTW key must be on, engine off
