NFB: how close is your drag strip?

I just want to figure out how close your guys' local strip is. Here in the bay area, it's way too far IMHO. Street racing is pretty bad at night, and I figure it has much to do with having no strip around. Our closest is Sears Point, almost 1 hr 45 min away crossing toll bridges and narrow backyard roads. You literally have to get there before noon to race at 5:00 pm due to the vehicle limit. So I consider my closest Sacramento Raceway, 2+ hours away. You still have get there mighty early, but not quite like Sears Point.

I got an 1/8 mile track about 40 mins Northeast from here, then I got a 1/4 mile 2 hours north of me and a 1/4 mile 2 hours east of me.

cecil county drag strip is about 30-45 minutes away, depending on traffic

Takes about an hour to get to Great Lakes Dragaway from where I live. I put down 59 minutes in the poll, though.

There are these people that live right next to Cecil County Drag Strip. They have this huge tree in their back yard with a "tree house" in it, lookin over the track. They can see everything perfectly from there. The sit there and watch the races all the time. No complaints from the drag stip either, lol, in fact they seem to rather enjoy them being there. Can't imagine wanting peace and quiet on a friday or saturday though

New York International Raceway Park is about 45 minutes from me. We also have an 1/8 mile track about 10-15 minutes away, but ive never been there.

When I lived in Syracuse, the 1/4 mile track was 10 minutes from my house, yet they still had a HUGE street racing scene......not many test and tune days though.

I'm 7 miles (15 minutes) from Old Bridge Twp. Raceway Park (aka "Englishtown") NJ. Last week when they had the NHRA K&N Nationals, we could hear the Top Fuel and Pro Stock classes from our house (also heard them Friday night when we went there for qualifications).

I've driven or trailered to Cecil County MD (100 miles, 2 hours), Maple Grove (Reading) PA (100 miles, 2 hours), Atco NJ (40 miles, one hour) and Island Dragway NJ (65 miles, 1.5 hours).

I am about 20-25 minutes from San Antonio Raceway and about 40 minutes from Alamo Dragway. Approximately 2 hours from Houston Raceway Park in Baytown.

Wow, I envy you guys with really close strips. Especially you Fred, who can hear the Top Fuelers
We used to have a local strip here called the Fremont Drag Strip, about 3 minutes from my house. It even had a small circle track. They closed down several years ago, and is now an auto mall, Costco, Lowe's, etc.
