OK, I think it's on their end then. I tried disabling my firewalls for a bit, yet get the same error. Are you required to register (before or after) if downloading it through google? download.com just downloads the program with no registration.

I didn't have to register. I downloaded it through Google this morning. I noticed there were two places on Google's website you could download it through. One didn't work, the other one did.

Maybe if their downloads exceed X amount per day, they halt all downloads as well as new "account activations" when the program is first run.

Yup, that's exactly what's happening. If you don't get on today, try again tomorrow morning.

That's exactly what is happening. The second spot is to the right of it. That's the one that didn't work at all. I just checked the one I downloaded from this morning and it's giving me the same message you posted. Try again earlier tomorrow. Hopefully it will work.

OK, thanks guys. I'll also try at 12 midnight tonight, as well as tomorrow morning because they might reset the max # of downloads at midnight, or in the morning.

It has been mentioned once but download it from www.download.com Just type in Google Earth in the search field.

I mentioned before that I got mine from download.com. We came to conclude that once google closes their download for the day, all new downloads will not be able to connect to google's servers for a new account activation until the next day.

I downloaded it this morning. These are about 3 years old. One of my neighbors has his house built, and another one doesn't.
The strange part is that I'm pretty sure I'm about to pull into my driveway! From what I can tell it's my white TA.

I just tryed the Google link and it say it's delayed, but I went onto download.com and got it no problem.

I just tried again right now, 6:20 PST, and it let me in. Maybe now is when the next batch of new users can sign on...

Probably like the MS terraserver site. Some areas have newer photos than others. Looking at my house, it is from about 1.5 years ago, fence is only half way around the backyard, and still has the '96 RS in the driveway.
