So, in 39 years, it got 1.6 seconds and 6 mph faster. That's technology for ya.

My 1966 GTO 389 Tri-Power 4-speed (yes, I bought it new for $3,500) was a 14.5-second 1/4-mile car, and got 9mpg. (Please note "real" Cragar SS wheels ):

I really liked the squarer lines of the 64 and 65 models. A buddy of mine had a 65 post-coupe.

I kept it for a while, and finally when I went to buy my 1973 Grand Prix (455 HO ), I told them "no trade" and the owner of the Pontiac/Cadillac dearership wanted the GTO so bad for his son that he told me "name your price". I still have the original window sticker somewhere.

Yeah that's a real classic looking car - very nice. I noticed you have one of the Mr. Gasket 3 outlet chrome fuel blocks on the firewall just like I had in my 6-pack Mopar. You must have took the original fuel line off at some point to put that on.
