i was driving home and i hopped on it at a 40 roll took it to 75 and it hit rev limiter usually it just hits like top of red and shifts. i did this 3 times. then i stopped hoping on it and turn onto another road my trans was stuck in like 2 gear. so i pulled over and popped my hood and they were glowing red.

They were glowing because you drove home at a high RPM in 2nd gear. Now the question is: How and the heck are we going to get that poop off your hood? I ain't touching it!

There could be several reasons. If there is any iginition miss, unburned fuel ends up in the exhaust. It is then ignited by combustion events from other cylinders and the manifolds can glow. If the cat(s) are degrading and cause a restriction, the exhaust gases stack up within the exhaust, the heat has nowhere to go and the manifolds can glow.

i havent noticed a miss and i always notice every sound every ting every creek in my car. i am anal like that. no loss of performance. i did gut my car. but what if a piece was still in there and manangaed to get in my intermediate pipe? no sound difference and no loss of power i mind you. i drove it last night and it did the same thing but not as bright. it shifted fine though. even when i got on it like i did when it didnt shift right before. what do you guys think it could be? how do i test for all of this. it is a obd1 car and there is no service engine light.

Already mentioned there are two things that will cause this unless you are doing full throttle runs.

If you are doing full throttle runs, excessively lean mixture sends the exhaust temps climbing sky high. Usually this is only an issue with forced induction or nitrous.

its not running lean the inside of my exhaust is black as can be. and my air fuel ratio does read lean.
