NFB 05 Chevy truck service air bag on the display

Thw company I work for just started buying Chevy trucks so I dont have much experiance (fleet used to be all ford) anyway My team is responsiable for installing the company electronics. this includes cell phone hands free system, laptop, modem etc. all this is on one circuit. the circuit starts under the hood at the power center then branches out to the electronics. We did not move or cut any of the factory wiring. After the installs we started the truck and the display flashes "Service air bag system" we tried dissconnecting the battery for a 1/2 hour hoping it would reset. no such luck. Anyone have any advise to reset the system?

That message usually means the SRS module detected a fault, not necessarily that anything was unplugged permanently. Even if no factory wiring was cut, it’s worth checking around the steering column, A-pillars, dash panels, and any yellow airbag connectors to make sure nothing was disturbed while routing cables. A low battery voltage during installation can also trigger an airbag warning on some 2005 Chevy trucks.

The battery disconnect trick generally won’t clear an active SRS fault. The system normally needs to be scanned with a professional diagnostic tool to read the stored airbag code before it can be cleared. That code will point you toward the actual issue instead of guessing.
