  • What to use to cleaning white lettering on tires

What is the best stuff to use for brightening up white lettering on tires?
2 firebirds are better the 1.

Wesley's bleach-white is the most common one used, but I've used dish soap (Dawn, Palmolive, etc..) and it works just fine as long as you have a brush handy. Bleach works also, but I'm not sure if it does any harm to the lettering or tire itself. Ken would know I'm sure.

Good call, Fred. I thought it looked weird when I first typed it.

Bleche White is the best stuff out there.

Also, you can use this stuff to remove dirt and stains from light colored leather seats as well. I don't recommend using it if something else will remove the dirt, but it does work if all else fails. I have used it numerous times on various interiors..........and yes I am aware of what the manufacturers recommend (water only or mild soap and water)........but if you want to clean your seats, this stuff will work!

I've used Comet before and that got them white in no time. Wash it off quickly and follow it up with Armor All. Never had a problem doing it this way.

Just had a flashback to cleaning the white walls on the station wagon with my Dad. Can't quite remember what we used, but I'm sure any white wall cleaner would work just fine.

Wesley's is good stuff. I have also used Ajax and/or Comet to scrub the sidewalls. It gets the grime off really well.
