Well, I've decided to get rid of my 86 T/A and buy something newer. I mean, I love her despite all the trouble, but I don't have the time, patience, or know-how for a project... I need something reliable. Right now I'm looking at a red 98 Firebird V6 that looks like it was very well taken care of. What do you all think would be a fair price to pay for it? And what do you think would be fair to sell mine for? It's not exactly tip top as I'm sure I've complained and made clear, but a buddy of mine wants her and I want to be fair. Thanks all!

When I was looking for/buying my car in march of 2004, I do remember the prices of some newer V6's that I saw.
Depending on mileage, condition, etc... I'd say anything from 6-9 grand... possibly a bit more or bit less.
As for selling your car, I'll go based on prices I saw at the same time...
Once again, conditions pending...anywhere from 500 bucks to 3 grand.

How does an V6 Compare to the LT1 or LS1 in Gas Milelage
Do you like V6's better? I never drove one. Do you get much better gas milelage?
I think the front/rear weight distribution should be better for cornering. I would get a 5 speed.

Looks like a fair price. As 95TransAm said, just give it a test drive and make sure everything is good. Good looking car, though. You'll be pretty impressed with the power from the V6.
