Some people have been able to use a simple battery terminal puller.

Yeah, a puller and about 15 minutes or so of Liquid Wrench spray soaking into the parts that you want to separate-You definitely can't just pull them off without it-

When you get them off, go ahead and pull the big plastic piece off thats under them, and clean all of the years of dirt and pinestraw thats under there. You'll lighten your car and get better gas mileage for your trouble

I used a puller, got them off, took the plastic off by the windshield cleaned it out. I had a spare newer wiper motor, failed to remove it another opti type of design, how do you disconnect the linkages? Lost one of the nuts for dirver side arm, couldn't match one, went to the dealer paid $3 for a new nut, still wouldnt fit, i think ill have to rethread it.

I'm going to be doing this soon as well. My 93's wiper motor is pretty sick.

I can already see this is going to be a pain. I am amazed that the motor is wedged in such a small area.
