    The next higher level would be a 1-3/4" primary, with 3" collectors. The 1-5/8" will give you a good "low end" improvement, but be limited at the "top end" (high RPM). If you plan to stay near the stock HP levels, its a good choice, particularly for a street driven car. A larger primary may not show as much improvement at the bottom end, but will have a larger HP capacity at the top end.

    A compromise is a 1-3/4" primary in a "long tube" design. The longer primaries boost low end performance, while the larger tubes give you better high HP gains.

    You need to identify how far you plan to go in the HP department, and whether you would ever be using a "power adder" like nitrous or a supercharger, both of which need "big" exhausts.

      There are people running 10's with 1 5/8" primaries. That's good enough for me, so that's what I went with. I didn't really care for the designs of any of the 1 3/4". The AS&M's are an awesome header, but the plug access was just terrible.

      I would stay away from anything made by edelbrock, personally.

        im personally a fan of Hooker, the super comps are awesome.

          man if u can get long tubes.....then do it, but im also a fan of hooker headers, but they r a bit pricey.
