Ummm, I think the biggest you can safely get on their and keep the stock height is 245/45R17. I don't believe 275/40's will fit.

correct...however..he could go 255's.....

Yeah, but that also yields a slight speedo error and, correct me if I'm wrong, a slight odometer error as well.
