I dunno there Kerm.... Muscle cars are in my blood, but so are sports cars. I think a Lotus Elise would make short work of any muscle car. It's the low curb weight that makes them deadly.

There absolutely will be a turbo motor in the Solstice. It will be same ecotech 4 but turbo'd like it is in the SAAB.

Target spec is 240-250HP. There are to be both manuals and autos.

The powertrain is capable of 300HP. With the 240HP tuning the torque curve is almost a flat line, it's nuts.

They will be 5 second cars.

It's too small. For me to really like a car it has to have more substance than that.

Physically, it's not that small. It's actually about as wide as an F-body and maybe a foot or two shorter. Much, much bigger than a Miata.

But, they are packaged terribly. The interior is snug and there's not much space for anything except for you and your lady. 6+ footers are gonna be cramped.

If they keep the MSRP under 20k, they will not be able to make enough of them. There's alot of hardware on these cars for the money.

Even the base cars are 7 second cars, very fun to drive with the 18" rubber and bilstiens, 5 speed.

I saw a picture with the trunk open once. SMALL, but that's what I'd expect. The Sky will probably start at around $25k. Solstice is starting below $20k, but for that you get manual windows, locks, and mirrors. Also no ABS, limited slip rear, fog lamps, Air Conditioning, cruise control. In that respect it really is a throwback to older sports cars. Personally, I think the limited slip rear should be standard if nothing else.

I think this information is still highly in flux.

I don't think you are going to be able to buy a car with manual windows and such. I'm 99% sure they've scrapped that concept - the base content of the car is growing every day.

What I'm not sure about, is if that means the base content will be better at the same price, or if they'll just build only optioned cars such that the effective base is higher. Cost is key to this "toy" type of car, so hopefully they don't mess it up.

Imagine this.... About ten years from now, when you can find one of these cars with high miles. Perfect candidate for a crate motor project.

It would be like a modern day A/C Cobra.
