  • 16" GTA rims

    hey guys ...

Thought I would start here. I am looking for 16" GTA wheels (Fronts only) and if possible in black. Ideally I would like four fronts so if you know of anyone who has some and wants to sell them please let me know.

I have seen the ones on ebay but never hurts to cast a wider net.

I know year one has them in the catalog, but I think they are pretty expensive. They are new though. http://www.yearone.com

Just to be picky, GTA wheels were gold. The same pattern could be had in other colors (black) but they were not GTA wheels in that case. True GTA wheels are gold. I'll stop being technical now.

Not picky ... just learned something new ....

. Can you tell me if there is any difference in weight between the two (black vs. gold)?

The only weight difference would be if they are reproductions or GM and then, even there's little difference. BTW, what are you using these for? Funny you bring this up, many guys use 4 fronts on their Buick GNs as it replicates the GNX look for a fraction of the price. I know a guy local that has a pair of rears that you can refinish... he only wants $100 for the pair. Just throwing that out there.

                        Joe,

I am looking for and hoping to use the four fronts on a roadracing car I am building for ASedan/CMC. The are interchangable back-to-front and front-to-back. I will get back to you on the rears as I think I read somewhere where a fellow racer actually uses the rears all around during wet conditions.

                        thanks for the heads up

If they are going on a true WS6(third gen) the rears will rub on the sway bar and or the inner fender well. If they are going on a regular trans am with level 2 or less suspention they will work.

                            DeWynter ..

When you say "they" are you talking about using rears on all fours or using fronts on all fours?

Sorry... the rears on all 4 will rub. I brought my car in to get new tires once and they put one rear on the front not knowing there was a difference and it marked up the rim from the swaybar and rubed the inner fender well just driving out of their lot and back in. But its only a problem on WS6 cars and GTA's as they both have level III suspention factory.
