  • question on 918 beehives

Will the comp cam 918 beehive springs fit on a stock LT1 head w/out machining? I have the 978 springs that I got suckered into buying. Guy said they were good to so much lift, etc, and they're not. Only good to .585@1.5 which is just as bad as the 986 springs I had before these. Basically the same spring only this one needs machining. I'm going to try to return this entire setup and get 918 springs and 744 retainers. Will this work on a stock LT1 head? I keep finding it but it's all about LS1's. Even the CC website shows it as an LS1 valve spring.
