  • Who Uses Traction Control?

Just curious to know how many here use traction control or not.

I myself never use it...whether it be rain, snow, or shine...never. When it's raining or snowing, if I absolutely have to take her out, I just make sure to take my corners nice and slow while mainting low RPM's throughout the whole turn.

When I first got my car, I took it to an open parking lot in the rain, snow, and when it was dry. I tested its limitations, and ever since then, traction control only bothers me.

I never use it...well, I can't say never, I've played with it. I rarely switch it one. I always feel it's taking over and I hate that feeling even though it probably might save my arse one day...

I always have it on. Except at the track and on-ramps It has saved by car from many spin-out from bad pot-holes to loose gravel in a turn. Good to have for normal cruising . A simple switch of the button and blammo I get all the fun I want.

I've got it on my Formula but pulled the relay and don't use it any more. I save me a few times when I grove it all year round but have the car pretty much performance oriented so I never drive it in the winter or rain.

I don't have it. Made my rear end swap easy. I heard TCS axles are a hard find.

Weird! I know I had it on my '99 Bird, but don't know about my '02 SS? Hmmm, light hasn't come on, and don't have a switch, that I can see/tell...no probs yet so guess I don't have it or don't miss it?

Don't have it either but I don't understand why the guys that do don't use it. My brother has it in his 99Z28 and other than doing a hard launch it doesn't kick on unless it is needed. It provides some more security incase you get on it and don't see those cinders on the corner or anything like that. He said its kept him from kicking the back out a few times. And its as simple as pushing a button when you want to launch hard or do a smokey burn out. Also to those of you who say you never turn it on doesn't it automatically kick on when you start your car?

96-97 WS6 didn't have the option. There were a couple of times I could have used it. It may have made the difference on whether the car swapped ends in the rain. I had it on my C4s and liked it when the pavement was wet. There were a few times it annoyed me but it's worth it for the safety factor.
