Just venting here.....
I went to raise my top yesterday morning to drive to work because it was chilly outside. As the top was rising it made a loud bang and the drivers side dropped a bit, while the motor stressed. I found a bolt had come out holding the control rod that controls the section of frame over the drivers door. I replaced the bolt but nothing lined up properly anymore. The motor had bent the structure. After an hour of analysis, I figured out where to bend it back. It fits well again, but what a PITA!!
the moral....
.
the cause.. missing lock nut on control arm bolt.
GEESH! (the mustang conv. I sold last month never had a top problem, but then again, it was a slow pig.)
