HELP ME

Hey you guys I just bought a 94 z28 t-top and I'm having some trouble with it. Whenever I stop and the car starts to idle to high rpm and to low rpm. When the car is stoped and in drive the high rpm causes the car to jerk foward. Plus when I try to kick down it doesnt go to its full potential, it wont take off until it reaches high rpm. I'm thinking it's either missfiring or the distributor doesn't work. Let me know what you think so I can figure out this mess.

could be fuel filter, going bad opti, plug wire(s) not contacting, leaky air intake. those are my guesses off the bat

Whats your coolant temp? I believe that I have seen low coolant cause that. Also, check to see if it has one of those "speed mod" chips off of Ebay. They are supposed to trick your car's computer in to thinking that there is cooler air coming in, but they eventually make your car act up.
