4:10s with a 6 speed if you are staying normally aspirated. If you you are going with a power adder like nitrous, supercharging or turbo, go with a 3.73s due to the additional torque available.

I think the consensus is that Motive are the quietest.

Take note of quietest....... not quiet. I don't think there is enough material in the case to dampen the sound like the older and heavier differentials. If you don't want to hear a little differential noise, get a louder exhaust.

The whole intent is to have the best quality most silent gears the first time. I have installed different brand gears in my Jeep, some had the super annoying hum and others were silent and yes they were installed perfectly to the 1/1000th". The ones that were silent were the OE Dana gears. I have read that the Motive gears are actually the OE GM gears. Under normal conditions gears should run silent when installed and you guys are the experts with experience and I appreciate the replys. I already have louder than stock exhaust and 2000 watts of stereo to drown out unwanted sounds, however hums, grinding noises and poping sounds that occur because of bad part quality or poor craftsmanship are unacceptable in my opinion.
It looks like the Motive gears will be the best bet.

Does any one know if there is a real difference between the Motive standard gears and the Motive Performance gears?
