  • Exaust tips

Hey, I got a used Z28 exaust and was wondering, has anyone seen a Firebird with the Camaro tips? I wonder if that would look fugly or not. They are already on there, and my old tips are 2.25 and these are 2.50 dia. So I have to get new tips or use these. (Camaro).

I've seen them before on a trans am and it looked pretty sweet IMO. Then again though, a trans am rear bumper is different than a firebird's.

I bet someone could photoshop it for you if you get a good picture of the back of a firebird and the back of a Z.

Seen them on a TA and they look fine when recessed in like the stock Z28 exhaust has them. I tried to get the tips off when I pulled everything but couldn't. Glad it made it there . It should look fine I think.

Thanks Steve! Incredible boxing job! When I got home from work, it was on my doorstep and it looked like the box died in transit. They really gave it a run for the money in shipping. I figured I might as well use them, they do look good. I hope they fit in the square cut outs.

They should fit without a problem, or at least I hope so. Glad you're happy with it. I almost had to pry the Z off of the box when I shipped it lol.

Well, tell your car it went to a good home...if it complains about the six, tell it at least it's supercharged.

I tried...she doesn't care...too selfish lol. Its ok, I bought her a new chip today, so she's happy again lol. That is, until the turbo 6 next to her picks a fight again lol . Anyways, enough thread hijacking lol. The hangars I pulled off should also be in there. If you find anything missing, lemme know and I'll see if I can find it.

              ***EDIT***

To test the fit, you could always place the tail-section under your current setup. Just line up the driver's side hanger and it should tell you if it will work or not. Hope this helps.

I gave "Blazer" my Z28 exhausts to put the tips on his 94 Formula. He was on here early this morning. Maybe he will chime in and see if he did it and has pictures.

There is no difference in the catback of a Z28 vs a TransAm. The tips will interchange. After loostening the bolts, you may have to soak the joint in PBlaster to remove the tips but they will interchange. I was planning on using my mailbox Z28 tips on my 87 WS6. It should compliment the lines of the rear bumper nicely.

Ya They look great thanks Jeff I owe you one.Everybody that has seen them say they look good. But I think I have taken about 20 pics an they will not show up because they are black. But I will keep trying to take pics. They look like they were made for the Bird an not for some Camaros. I am super happy. Blazer

The tips on my TA are not actually factory Z28 tips, but I believe they are similar and will give you an idea of how they'll look on your car.
