      Why?

I've driven a 2005 Roush GT with a 5 speed and was not overly impressed. It sits you upright like a sedan, your right knee hits the dash. There is no oil pressure gauge or volts gauge. It didnt feel any faster than my 11 year old Camaro. It most definitely does not look better tham a f-body either.

I can see no reason to buy one, let alone sell an f-body for one.

        Well

Payments. My payments are 409.06 a month. On a lease. It will be up in 15 months. I am divorced and making only 9.10 per/hr. Taking a crap job to pay the bills. Thank God for overtime. Anyway, Ken I saw your GTO ummm could you price me on one. Also, my late father is a retiree of FORD. The A plan does help alot.

        Thanks again,

Sometimes things like cars need to be put on hold while more important things are taken care of... been there, done that...

You realize that at $9 an hour, you have to work about 63 hours just to make a payment (after taxes)? Not worth it, bro... not at all.

                I understand but...

My fiance' is going to co-sign. We are currently planning our wedding. She is a Pastry Chef. Making more than I am. We currently split the bills.
Went on Fords website and priced and used my car for a trade in. The cost per month is less than I am paying now.

I agree with Jay. If things in your life are tight financially, why bother trading in the Firehawk for yet another car payment? Get something cheap to get you from point A to point B and save your pennies for another day. Cars aren't always the most important things in life and sometimes you gotta know when to take a step back. That's a big payment for the money you're making, so I don't blame you for wanting to get rid of it, but you'll gain nothing by simply trading brands.

Not having a performance car will only make you appreciate it more when you do get one again.

Where exactly does the trade-in come from? I thought you had a lease...

Don't do it. If payment is your issue, the car can be re-financed and you still come out ahead. It will be paid off much quicker without adding all that extra principle.

you are like us, who wants to "see yourself at every corner and stop light"....... stangs are like flies when i let my three critters out back to potty in the morning.... they are everywhere....in the middle of the ___t.

gto's are going in the low 30's...some over sticker, depending where you live... the ones with the sport apearance package like mine are in the high mid 30's... with no discounts in most cases.... that wont help your payments broh....

I totaly agree with these guys,

I waited a LONG time to get my frist car and the reason was just finances and a big reason why I have a Firebird was it was about 2k less then anything else I was looking for with about 40-70k kilometers less on the speedo.

My boss has the best way of going about things, only invest in things that give you a return. Cars are a HUGE waste of cash. Money in a RRSP isn't as flashy as a nice new car but when your 60 you wont have to work if you don't want to and to me that's more important. I think the rule for RRSP's historicly are every 4 years the money doubles and if you keep adding at it w/o takeing money away from it, in about 15-20 years of there life the intrest you make is huge. For now a mustang is nice but in 5 years it will be old and everyone will have one.

If you ease up strain on your wallet it can also help make your life easyer not living from pay check to pay check. It's worth takeing a hit on your fun now and later on you can have your fun w/o feeling the strain.

I know exactly how you feel, Adam. Back in '96, I had a deposit down on a 1996 WS-6 T/A. I was going to pick it up the next day before I came to some realization that buying an engagemnt ring, house, and furniture were going to be huge priorities in the next year to two years. My payment at the time would have been $390. I cancelled the deposit and didn't get a T/A until earlier this year.

Not to sound cliche, but things have a way of working out in the end. If saving money is what you want, having a performance/muscle car won't help. Leases are especially tough on the finances being you are left with no equity when the lease ends. It's like renting.

Hey man just to give you an idea I bought my wife a new mini cooper S brand new and the sticker was 23 and some change. We had a $460 month payment and after we refinanced we are down to 410 a moth so a refy helps alot but if you get a new muskrat your probably still going to be around 4 a month. Not to get into your buisness but do you know what your buy out is?
