  • 4 bolt mains....

Is it true that some f-bodys cam with 4 bolt LT1 mains and if so how can you tell other than pulling the oil pan.
Also I am considering the LE1 or LE2, Lloyd said that the LE2 revving to 6500 RPM will take its toll on the short block at an accelarated rate, which I dont want. The LE1 revs to 6200.
I want more engine longevity that a few extra ponies, looking at the LE1.
I wish someone had real world comparison numbers between the two mods.

Factory f-body LT1s should be 2 bolt mains. Replacement blocks were said to be 4 bolt. It is possible that a 4 bolt block or two made it into a production LT1. You cannot tell from the exterior of the engine.
