Are the air foils that you put in the throttle body really worth it? My friend with a 305 tpi 3rd gen says it helped his car out quite a bit. I'd like to hear what you guys think.

quite a bit? I dunno about that. But all those little mods can add up. Talk to Joe1320. He put all those little mods together, nothing big, and clicked off a 13 flat in the 1/4.

Nothing like a dyno test to provide some reliable info...... 2.4 peak rwHP, 2.1 peak rwTorque, slightly higher "average HP".

truly not worth the money untill you use a blower, turbo, or get into the 450hp and above NA range.

Whenever I modify engines, I subscribe to the idea that it takes lots of little mods in addition to the typical bolt on stuff to get the desired end results. I like to enhance part throttle response as well as wide open throttle performance. The airfoil is a nice little jewel for funneling air into the throttle body. It's not going to add much HP, but when all the other intake modifications are eventually done you can be assured that the engine itself will be the bottleneck. It does a better job of sharpening the throttle response at part throttle and helps the engine rev a little quicker when not under load. There are good designs and bad ones. The type that is merely a bolt in center "I" shape doesn't appear to work as well as the composite type that surrounds the entire end of the throttle body. The exception to this is the already cast in airfoil of a aftermarket throttle body. Remember, You're not adding HP, you are negating power losses due to a factory compromise in the original equipment. There will be some that bash airfoils, I'm not one of them. Is it a cost effective mod? I doubt there is any mod that you could really consider cost effective.

              Nice chart there, Bob!
