I was coming back from lunch today and noticed something...my ABS is working?? I did get the Low Trac pulse thing once, but that's it. And that was even minor. Could the bearings in the rear have been throwing off the rear ABS sensor? I'll post tonight when I get home, see if it stays normal or starts acting up again.

Yes... My wife's Exploder had two rear bearings go south. The ABS light came on and it would kick in whenever it came to a slow stop. The bearings were replaced and the light was off. No more problem.SOLD: 2002 Trans Am WS.6 - Black on Black - 6 Speed

Even stranger is the fact that it was on all day yesterday and all morning today. Wonder why it would just start behaving all-of-a-sudden.Steve

See if you can get it to come on while you are on a back road somewhere and nobody is around to get in the way........ when it does come on, do a full panic stop and see if your abs is indeed working.Steve

Ok, same thing today. It seems to work fine once everything is warmed up. Could this mean I need a new rear sensor? The reluctor ring should be fine, right?
Also, Joe, I did some thinking about the scenario you wanted me to do. I've been forced to do this before a few times and the wheels didn't lock up at all, except once in the rain and that was near the end of the stop. Any idea what this would mean?
Thanks everyone.Steve

Ok, I'm pretty sure its the rear sensor now. When I was coming home, I got the light (it comes on when the rear is cold). Had to stop at Office Max on my way to a friend's house. Drove off...no ABS INOP light. In fact, it was fine until I let off the gas once. Once I did, the Low Trac light came on (didn't even hit the brakes, just let off the gas) and was followed by the ABS INOP light within seconds. So, this is the rear sensor, right? The car never did this until I got it back from having the rear worked on it. If so, is 10456115 the right part # for the rear sensor? Also, how hard is the sensor to replace? Pretty easy, right? Thanks everyone.Steve

If your Low Trac light comes on when you never even touched the brakes, the rear sensor has to be toasted. Not sure how easy they are to replace in our cars.
Here's a link to a Popular Hot Rodding article. They are working on a '92 Camaro, and they have the rear ABS assembly off the car. The article shows a step-by-step of how they got it off. The sensor is attached to a harness in one of the pics. It's an interesting read. Hope it helps, Steve.SOLD: 2002 Trans Am WS.6 - Black on Black - 6 Speed
