    On 60's & 70's muscle cars will lead additive iincrease power and/or gas milage?

    The lead additive isn't intended to do either of those things. The main purpose:

    -restore "octane rating" to fuel used in very high compression engines. If your engine isn't knocking on unleaded fuel, adding lead will not increase power or mileage.

    -provide a coating of lead to "lubricate" the valve seats, if the engine does not have the hardened valve seats that have been used since lead was removed from gasoline. Most "rebuilds" of older engine (pre-1973) will have the newer valve seats.
